HELPFUL INFORMATION
Memorials and funerals are extremely sensitive periods in life and at St. Stephens, Gardenvale, we want to support you. Sometimes, just by knowing that someone is able to help you through the process step by step is a big help.
A Listening Ear & Pastoral Care
We all deal with grief differently, and sometimes we simply want to know that somebody is there to talk to. Sometimes we wish to sit and share grief, reflect on memories, cry, laugh, share, or pray. We are a Christian church and so we have a belief about life and death, and this is something that you might wish to speak about with any of the Ministry Leadership Team and professionally qualified and experiencedLay Ministers. Please just ask.
A Service
You may wish for a formal Anglican service or something completely different. Whatever your choice, this is something that we can discuss together to see how we can best serve you and your family. Aspects to consider might be a non-denominational style of service, you may have someone in mind to lead the service other than the parish Priest, you may want a writing in the memorial book,or the Priest to go to the graveside with you, or you might have thoughts around caterers, guests, flowers, music, and orders of service–all these things can be arranged to reduce the burden on you.
Interment of Ashes
This is something that families may decide upon. If this is something that you want to explore, it is possible to have ashes placed into the memorial garden at the church. This is quite acceptable, and the Priest or any member of the leadership team will help discuss this with you via the contact details below.
Fees
Feesof services are usually something that people want to know about but do not always feel comfortable about asking, or how church operates. Therefore, a guide is set out at the end of this brochure to help.We are always here to answer questions andhelp you.
